Oh. And I loved his "advice" to the reader at the end. It reminded me of the author's advice at the end of Meditations on The Tarrot.

Rick F.,

Great, haunting book that MOT. Did you ever read the edition that included Balthasar's forward to the German edition?

I did, Gordon.
Incredible book. UF inspired my to write my own anonymously.

Gil,
I am at once intrigued and frightened by what I have heard you and Mr. Girard say regarding the eschatological implications of the broken mechanism.

(I am about half way through Violence Unveiled, and I've listened to some of your talks, so I apologize if I ask this prematurely. Perhaps, I just need to hurry up and finish the book. I'm currently taking classes so I haven't had the time to finish yet.)

Anyway, I am a firefighter, and it seems to me that over the last year there has been a significant rise in suicide calls. I'm sure that there are many reasons for this, the economy and the negative focused media for two. But also, there almost seems to be an obsession over the Mayan calendar ending in 2012. (Perhaps it's our love of Drama) There just seems to be so much hopelessness.

It seems to me that it is when things are darkest that the light seems to shine the brightest. Or maybe "when sin abounds..."
That's why I am troubled by what Girard says in this link.

I guess I feel like, the worse things get, the more many will finally see that Christ is the only way.

I'm sorry I haven't quite formulated a question. Maybe I'll try again later. Or maybe someone else can help me out?

Merry Christmas by the way, and I pray that God blesses you and yours countless times over the next year.
